Intended use

Inductive coupling systems (BIC) are devices for
contactless power and signal transmission and are
intended for use in industrial applications.
Flawless function in accordance with the specifications in
the technical data is ensured only when using suitable
original Balluff accessories. Use of any other components
will void the warranty.
The device is a device of EMC class A. This equipment
may cause radio interference. The operator must take
appropriate precautions for their use. The device may only
be operated with approved power supplies and only
approved cables may be connected.
Non-approved use is not permitted and will result in the
loss of warranty and liability claims against the
manufacturer.

Hot surfaces
The housing and especially the active surface will heat up
under normal operating conditions. There is a risk of burn
injuries. Keep hands and objects away from the active
surface. Metallic objects must not be allowed to come
between the distances to be maintained and the active
surfaces of the Base and Remote components (see
chapter 5.1 and 5.2 from page 11).
Protection against electromagnetic fields during
operation and installation
At a distance of 300 mm, the magnetic field strength of a
BIC is less than 0.092 µT. Based on the EU Council
Recommendation 1999/5/EC, this distance is considered
the basic limit or reference value for the safety of persons
in electromagnetic fields according to EN 62311.
Additional (operational) limits may apply to persons with
active medical implants.
