7. Wipe out the inside of the appliance
thoroughly with a damp cloth and remove
any coffee residues.
8. Allow the brewing unit and the inside of
the appliance to dry.
9. Reinsert the brewing unit (25) fully into
the appliance. Slide the red lock (25 a)
back fully and close the door (20).

N.B.: After cleaning thoroughly, the seals of
the brewing unit should be greased regularly
for optimal care.
Apply a thin layer of the special grease in-
tended for this purpose (Order No. 311368)
all around the seals.

Service programmes

At certain intervals, depending on how the
appliance is used, the display will show one
of the following texts instead of the coffee
selection:
Service -
P - button 3 sec.
change filter
Service -
P - button 3 sec.
clean
Service -
P - button 3 sec.
descale
Service -
P - button 3 sec.
Calc'n'Clean
Then the water i lter should be changed
immediately or the appliance cleaned or
descaled using the corresponding pro-
gramme (described on the next pages).
Otherwise the appliance may be damaged.
The service programmes can also
be started manually in the settings
menu (see "Displaying settings").
