51800
On/Off Control Box
THE PRODUCT
With the 51800, you can manually
control power to track sections and
accessories. Features include:
- weather-resistant enclosure
- four single-pole, single-throw
(SPST) switches
- concealed screw terminals
- power indicator lamp
- side "piggyback" terminals
- marking stickers

OPERATION
Each switch in the 51800 controls
power from the "2" terminals to the
terminals marked with the switch
symbol on the screw terminal strip
(Fig. 1). Power from the "1" terminals
is uncontrolled.
Installation
Mechanical: The 51800 can be
installed indoors or outdoors. The
base plate has four mounting holes.
Electrical: The 51800 can control AC
power or DC power, but not both at
the same time.
Power can be connected to the ter-
minals numbered "1" and "2" on the
screw terminal strip (Fig. 2). The
green power indicator lamp lights
when power is connected to the
51800.
Power can also be connected using
the male and female "piggyback" ter-
minals on the sides of the box (Fig.
3). With these terminals, several LGB
control boxes (e.g., 51750, 51800)
can be connected.
Hints:
- If the male piggyback terminals are
not used, they can be removed.
- Use the included marking stickers
to indicate the function of each
switch (Fig. 4).

- Track block
Attention! Do not mix AC and DC
power when connecting control
boxes.
Applications
The 51800 can be used in a wide
variety of applications. For example,
it can be used to control DC track
power to isolated track blocks in a
station (Fig. 5). The 51800 can also
be used to control power to acces-
sories, like street lamps and switch
lanterns.
Power Supply
Attention! For safety and reliability,
operate this product with LGB power
supplies (transformers, power packs
and controls) only. The use of non-
LGB power supplies will void your
warranty.
