INTRODUCTION
Read this manual completely before operating the Torque Bench, and keep it
for future reference.
Follow all safety messages and specifications to prevent injury to the operator
and bystanders, and damage to the Torque Bench.
1.1

SAFETY INFORMATION

>
Keep work area clean.
>
Operators and bystanders must always wear safety goggles when the Torque Bench
is in use.
>
Wear a protective hair covering to contain long hair and prevent contact with
moving parts.
>
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry while operating the Torque Bench as they
can get caught in moving parts.
>
Keep your body away from moving parts.
>
Flying particles can discharge when applying torque.
>
Before operating the Torque Bench, check for obstacles near your hand, and
anticipate the reaction force by gripping the handle firmly.
>
Ensure the sensor is mounted securely using the provided screws, which should be
fastened to the specifed tightening torque.
>
Ensure that all components, including adaptors, extension drivers, and sockets, are
rated to match or exceed the torque or load being applied.
>
Do not use chipped, cracked, or damaged sockets or accessories.
>
While using ratchets, ensure that the direction is fully engaged in the
correct position.

APPLICABLE SKU

The J657B Torque Bench is compatible with the following Torque Sensors:
J657-735, J657-295, J657-36, J657-22. For more information on these sensors,
see Torque Sensor User Guide, doc# 0980-Torque_Sensor-999.

CAPACITY

Torque wrench capacity is up to 735 ft-lb (1000 N·m).
