Water temperatures over 125° F will scald and can instantly cause
severe burns or death!
Children, disabled and elderly are at highest risk of being scalded.
Always test the water temperature by feeling the water prior to
entering a shower, bath, etc.
Obey all codes regarding temperature set point.
Contact a licensed plumber or local plumbing authority for
clarification or additional information.
EXTENDED SHUTDOWN
EXTENDED OUTAGE PROCEDURE
If a heater will be out of service for an extended amount of time, use the following procedures to protect the
unit:
Cold air may enter the unit through the air intake or the exhaust system. Take precautions for extended
shutdowns even if unit is installed indoors in an area that does not allow direct exposure to freezing
temperatures.
Temperatures at or below 32° F (0° C) can cause permanent damage to the unit and/or the piping system due
to freezing.
After an extended shutdown (weeks/months), all settings return to their factory default values. During short
term shutdowns (power outage or if the unit is unplugged), the unit will retain the last settings selected prior
to the outage when power is restored.
