Troubleshooting
If the device stops working properly, fi rst check whether you are able to correct the prob-
lem yourself.
Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself!
Problem
The device does
not work. (Noth-

brews very slowly.
The coffee jug over-

The device does not
brew any coffee.
The coffee does not

Possible cause/solution
•
The mains plug is not inserted correctly in the plug socket.
•
Is the plug socket defective? Try another socket.
•
Check the fuse of your mains connection.
•
There is too much coffee powder in the fi lter.
•
The coffee powder is too fi nely ground.
•
The fi lter or fi lter holder is not inserted correctly.
•
The fi lter paper bag is not suitable for the device.
•
The coffee outlet is blocked. Clean the fi lter holder.
•
The jug is not positioned correctly on the hotplate.
•
The device needs to be descaled (see the "Cleaning and
Descaling" chapter).
•
The water tank is overfi lled. Note the MAX marking in the
water tank.
•
The fi lter paper bag does not have any coffee in it.
•
The fi lter paper bag is not inserted correctly.
•
Is the water tank empty?
•
Has the device overheated? Wait for a few minutes be-
tween brews until the device has cooled down before you
use it again.
•
The device needs to be cleaned or descaled (see the
"Cleaning and Descaling" chapter).
•
The coffee powder is too coarsely or too fi nely ground.
•
The ratio between the amount of coffee powder and water
is not correct.
•
Poor quality of the coffee powder or water.
•
The hot water tank is empty and needs to be topped up.
•
Don't use the device any longer and contact the customer
service.
•
The seal plug of the hot water tank is not inserted correctly.
Correct this.
