Danger of burns! The hotplate, the fi lter and fi lter holder are hot during the brewing
process and immediately afterwards. There may also be hot water inside the fi lter
and fi lter holder. Let these parts cool down before you touch them.

Danger of scalding! Do not move the device while it is operating.
■
The device should not be used if it is damaged. Switch off the device and pull the
mains plug out of the plug socket if an error occurs during operation.
■
The prepared drinks are hot; be careful when handling hot liquids.
■
Do not use the coffee jug if its handle is loose or damaged.
■
Do not place the device right at the edge of tables or kitchen counters and do not al-
low the mains cable to hang over the edge of the surface it is placed on. Others may
become caught and pull the device down.
■
Lay the mains cable or an extension cable in such a way that it does not present a
trip hazard.
Danger of Electric Shock
■
The device should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with safety
contacts. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that
the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match
the technical data of the device. Only use suitable extension cables whose technical
data is the same as that of the device.
■
Never immerse the device, mains cable or plug in water or other liquids and ensure
that they cannot fall into water or become wet.
■
Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do not at-
tempt to pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power!
■
Never touch the device, mains cable or plug with wet hands when these components
are connected to the mains power.
■
Always switch the device off fi rst before you pull the mains plug out of the plug socket.
■
Use the device only in closed rooms.
Danger of Fire
■
Do not use the device near to combustible material or in rooms containing easily ignit-
able dust or poisonous and explosive fumes.
■
Do not operate the device in a very damp environment.
■
Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a mul-
tiple socket in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fi re).
■
Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not
to damage the device. Do not place any naked fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the
immediate vicinity of the device, mains cable or mains plug.
■
Danger of overheating! Never cover the device with cloths or something similar.
Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
■
Lay the mains cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces (this also applies to the hot surfaces of
the device!).
■
Always place the device on a dry, level, fi rm and heat-resistant surface..
