Before you shred roots, remove any re-
maining soil and stones from them
•
Do not shred soft, damp material such as
kitchen waste, but take it straight to the
compost.
•
Keep a few dry branches for the end, as
they will help clean the shredder.
•
Only switch the shredder off when all of the
shredding material has passed through the
cylinder. Otherwise, the cylinder may jam the
next time you switch the shredder on.

Jammed chopping material is released.
The direction of rotation is to be changed only
until the chopping material is released.

For stubborn blockages, the distance of
the pressure plate from the blade cylinder
can be increased by turning the adjusting

1. Remove the four Allen screw (15) on the
housing plate (16).
2
Take off the housing plate. This may
require light jerking movements, as the
housing plate also contains two counter
bearings.
3. The blockage can now be removed from
the equipment.
4. When replacing the housing plate (16), en-
sure that it is positioned correctly. This is
determined by the blade shaft (17), pres-
sure plate rod (18) and four threads.
5. Screw on the housing plate (16) firmly with
the four Allen screws (15).
Adjusting the pressure plate
The pressure plate factory setting is correct, and
only has to be adjusted with wear. You will rec-
ognise that the cutting system has become worn
when the shredding material is only compressed,
and comes out in long chains.
The running-in process may require that you
initially readjust the pressure plate in short
intervals.
1. To switch on the equipment, turn the op-
erating mode selection switch (
right.
2. Turn the adjusting screw (
wise until you hear scraping noises. Small
aluminium shavings will come out of the
ejection chute.
Avoid unnecessary wear on the pres-
sure plate by not over-adjusting.
