Special Blending Instructions
Filling the jar
When filling the jar with ingredients follow
these recommendations:
• Use sufficient amount of liquid to ensure
that the mixture is fluid and free-running
at all times. Pour the liquid into the jar
FIRST.
• Cut solid ingredients into pieces that are
no bigger than a 1" cube.
• Never fill the jar with so many ingredients
that the blender cannot process. Never fill
the jar higher than the top graduation
marking, and remember that the volume
of the ingredients normally increases
during processing.
• Always place the cover/filler cap on the jar
when blending.
Blending with ice
NOTE: Do not chop ice without liquid in the
jar. The liquid helps feed the ice pieces into
the cutter.
To make a frozen drink like frozen daiquiris,
yogurt smoothies, iced cappuccino, or
granitas:
1. Place the liquid into the jar.
2. Add small pieces of ice (similar to those
made in most ice makers) to the liquid
in batches.
3. Add additional ingredients (fruit, ice
cream, etc.).
4. Blend until ice is desired size.
Operating the Blender
Using the Filler Cap
Use the filler cap to add liquids to the jar
while the unit is running. To remove the
filler cap from the cover, turn the cap
counterclockwise and pull up.
When making mayonnaise, add the oil
last and add it slowly using the filler cap.
Blending hot mixtures
IMPORTANT: To minimize the possibility
of scalding, the following precautions
MUST be observed:
• Blend only
1
⁄
pint at a time.
2
• Always remove the filler cap from the
cover of the container before blending.
• Never stand with your face or hands
directly over the jar when operating the
blender.
1. Blend on cycle B (Three-step Cycle)
until completely mixed. If more air is
desired in the drink, stop blending,
switch to cycle C, and continue
blending.
2. After cycle stabilizes/finishes pulsing,
remove the cover from the jar to allow
steam to escape.
