4.6 Setting up the recorder

To set up the recorder, tightly screw the supplied base to the threaded
jack (21) on the lower side or mount the recorder e. g. on a stand with
6.35 mm (¼") thread.
4.7 Placing the windshield
To talk into the built-in microphones (e. g. for an interview) or to record
wind instruments at close range, place the supplied foam windshield on
the upper part of the recorder so that the microphones (1 and 25) are cov-
ered.
4.8 Switching the recorder on and off
To switch on the recorder, set the POWER switch (7) to position ON. After
a few seconds the display (3) shortly shows the start screen and then
changes to the display for the reproduction (
remains dark after switching on or if the symbol
at the bottom of the display, the batteries are exhausted and have to be
replaced (
Switch off the recorder after use with the POWER switch (position OFF).
A current recording must always be terminated prior to switching off [but-

(10)], otherwise data loss may occur.
