Safety information

- The appliance reaches high temperatures, so there is no need
to leave the hair between the plates for longer than a few sec-
onds. This will prevent unnecessary damage to the hair. Always
be careful not to allow the plates to come into contact with the
skin.
- The appliance can only be used at the correct voltage: 220/240
Volts AC (Alternating Current).
- Never use the appliance in a bathtub or shower, above a sink
filled with water or with wet hands. Also, do not use the appli-
ance in the vicinity of a bathtub, sink or any other reservoir
filled with water.
- Never submerge the appliance in water. Even when you clean
the appliance, it must not come into contact with water.
- When the appliance is turned on, never set it down on a soft
cushion or blanket.
- Turn off the appliance whenever styling is interrupted.
- Always disconnect the plug from the socket outlet:
- in the event of any malfunction during use;
- before cleaning the appliance;
- when the appliance is not being used.
- Do not pull on the mains lead when disconnecting the plug
from the socket outlet.
- Never wrap the mains lead around the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance:
- when the mains lead is damaged;
- when the appliance is visibly damaged;
- when the appliance has fallen or been dropped.
- Indicator lights such as LEDs and the IR light do not exceed
laser class 1 in accordance with IEC 825-1.
- Avoid dangerous situations. Never allow a person with motoric
deficits to use the appliance without supervision.
- Children do not understand the dangers of electric appliances.
Therefore, children should never be allowed to use electric
appliances without supervision.
- Keep the packaging materials (for instance the plastic wrapping)
out of reach of children.
- Extra safety can be achieved when an earth leakage circuit
breaker with a nominal trip current of no more than 30 mA
has been installed in the switch box. Consult an electrician
for advice on this matter. Dangerous situations can also arise
when the appliance is turned off. Therefore, the appliance's plug
should always be disconnected from the socket outlet after use.
- The mains lead of the appliance must not be replaced. An appli-
ance with a faulty or damaged mains lead can not be repaired
and must be disposed of as waste material. Have a service
provider authorised by the manufacturer inspect the product to
minimise risks.
- Use the appliance for its intended purpose only.
- Chemical waste: a defective appliance should be rendered unus-
able. Consult your local authorities for information about waste
disposal regulations.
Ion technology
Ions have been used for many years in the better air cleaners and
purifiers. Ions are present in nature: for example on the coast or
high in the mountains, where waterfalls and streams are created.
The straightener is fitted with an electronic ion generator. This pat-
ented ion technology ensures that 8x as many ions are distributed
over the hair through the two outlets. This professional method of
styling with ions has the following positive effect:
1. The hair does not acquire a static charge during styling (anti-
static effect)
2. The hair feels softer and shines more. The hair scales all face in
the same direction, which makes the hair feel softer and look
shinier.
3. The straightener can be used on both wet and dry hair (Wet &
Dry).
ThermoCeramic technology
The ceramic coated plates ensure that the hair cuticle lies flat
once styled. This ensures that your hair reflects light and therefore
appears healthy and shiny. The ceramic coating also acts as a bar-
rier to protect your hair from the high temperature reached by the
element. This minimises damage to the cuticle.
Selecting the correct heat setting
The ThermoCeramic Pro Ionic is designed to reach very high tem-
peratures for use on all hair types. Most hair types can be styled
perfectly without using the highest heat settings. Where possible,
you should always use the lower settings as this is safer and
kinder to your hair. A guideline to determine what temperature

Variable temperature adjustment
You can set the temperature with the variable temperature adjust-
ment:
Yellow section: from 60 to 100 degrees
Orange section: from 100 to 150 degrees
Red section: from 150 to 200 degrees

How to use

1. After washing your hair, it's really important to prepare it for
styling. If you use lots of heated styling tools on your hair use a
heat protection spray before you begin styling.
2. Divide your hair into sections, and comb each section through.
Use sectioning clips to clip hair out of the way so you can
straighten hair thoroughly.
3. Insert the plug in the socket. Turn the on/off switch to 'on'
before use and the indicator light will switch on.
4. Adjust the temperature regulator to the desired temperature.
5. If you wish to use ions to straighten the hair, you can activate
the ion function by turning the ion switch to I. The indicator
light will switch on. If you do not wish to use the ion function,
turn the ion switch to 0.
6. Place the straightener on a heat resistant surface while the
plates are warming up and during straightening.
7. The straightener will have reached the set temperature after 30
seconds.
8. Clamp a section of the hair between the straightening plates,
as close to the roots as possible. Gently slide the straightener
down your hair shaft to the ends. For more difficult sections of
hair, you may need to do this again. Repeat on all sections of
the hair.
9. Turn the on/off switch to 'off' to deactivate the device. The
indicator light will switch off. Remove the plug from the socket
after use. Hang the straightener on the practical storage ring
once the plates have cooled down.
Cleaning
Over time, you will find a natural build up on your straightening
plates. This can be caused by natural oils in your hair and styling
products and lotions. At the first sign of build up, you should clean
your straightening plates. To do this, always switch your straight-
ener off and wait for them to cool down. Wipe with a damp cloth,
or a non abrasive cleaning wipe. Failure to do this may mean the
build up becomes burnt onto the straightening plates and they will
become difficult to clean. If your straightening plates do become
discoloured it will NOT affect their performance.
