The blower must be running while using the respirator. If the blower turns off by accident,
the device ceases to function as a respirator, and carbon dioxide levels may instantly rise.
This is considered an exceptional situation.
2.10 At a very intense working pace, the pressure in the facepiece can change into negative
pressure at peak inhalation.
2.11 Protection levels may be reduced if wind speed exceeds 2 m/s.
2.12 Recommended operation conditions -10 °C...+50 °C, relative humidity (RH) under 75 %.
2.13 Filters must not be fi tted directly to the the face shield or breathing hose.
3. Start-up
Check before use
•
intactness of visor and breathing hose
•
that the face seal is intact and properly in place.
With a blower device
See Instructions for Use of the fi lter and blower device to be used.
•
Fix the breathing hose of the blower device tightly to the connecting tube of the face shield.
•
Screw the fi lters tightly to the blower device.
•
Don the blower device, then check adequate air fl ow (see Instructions for Use of the blower
unit).
•
Remove the protective fi lm from the visor.
•
Don the Automask.
•
Adjust the head harness to get a good fi t against the face. Take care that the harness
is not tightened too hard, as exhalation air should be able to pass through the porous
face seal.
•
An excessive tightening of the harness can be one reason for the warning of the blower
device which indicates that the device no longer reaches the minimum fl ow rate.
With a compressed air line device
See Instructions for Use of the Pressure reducer PR.
•
Connect the hose and the supply tube, and adjust the air fl ow according to Instructions for
Use of the Pressure reducer PR. Check with the Flow meter PR (062571) that air passes
through the hose to the face shield.
•
Remove the protective fi lm from the visor.
•
Don the Automask CA.
•
Adjust the head harness to get a good fi t against the face. Take care that the harness
is not tightened too hard, as exhalation air should be able to pass through the porous
face seal.
