Master Volume
The Master Volume control sets the loudness of all inputs, microphones and music players

use the Input knobs to do so.
Master Tone Bass
Use this adjustment to provide more low end to the woofer or to take away low end if the sound has
too much bass.
Master Tone Mid
Use this adjustment to adjust the mid range frequencies of the speaker to make it sound more full
or more thin depending on the media being played.
Master Tone Treble
Use this adjustment to make the speaker sound more or less bright and sparkly.
Battery Status
Displays how much battery power is remaining. Turning the unit on briefly or plug into a power
outlet to check the battery level. A flashing bar graph indicates the speaker is charging
Introduction
The PAS 100 is a portable amplified speaker with the battery built in. It is designed to be used for voice reinforcement and
music playback for hotels, convention centres, ballrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, fitness instruction, outdoor sports,
live music performance and anywhere else a sound system needs to be easily and quickly set up. Out of the box it may be
connected to any dynamic microphone, MP3, CD or other music player. Total integrated wireless operation in one box
requires using the optional Sennheiser Evolution wireless microphone receiver.
Unpacking
Carefully remove the PAS 100 from its carton and save all packing materials should the unit need to be shipped in the future.
Save the two faceplates with holes in them as they will be needed for mounting a CD player or wireless receiver now or in
the future.
Battery Charging
Plugging the unit into an AC outlet will begin charging the battery. When the speaker is plugged into a live AC outlet the red
AC light next to the power switch will illuminate. It is possible to both charge the speaker and use it at the same time. Full
charging will take approximately 8 hours when the power is switched off. A flashing bar graph means the battery is charging.
When the bar graph displays all 4 segments illuminated and has stopped blinking, and the red AC light is illuminated, the unit
is fully charged.
Connecting a Cabled Microphone
Any microphone that does not require phantom power may be used with the PAS 100 microphone input. Possible
microphones choices include popular and rugged dynamic microphones (i.e. Sennheiser e815) or condenser microphones
with integrated phantom power packs. Turn the Master Volume to the second line on the dial. Attach the microphone to the
input labelled Mic. In. Speak into the microphone and turn up the input knob over the microphone input until the red Input
Overload light begins to flash. Turn the volume back down until the light stops flashing and then turn it down one line more.
Turn up the Master Volume until the sound is loud enough. When a squeeling or whistling sound is heard immediately turn
the Master Volume all the way down and slowly turn it back up.
Connecting a Music Player
To connect and MP3 or CD player to the PAS 100, use an adapter cable with RCA (cinch) connectors and plug them into the
input labelled Aux In L/R. Turn the Master Volume to the second line on the dial. Start playing the loudest music you have
and turn up the input knob over the Aux Input until the red Input Overload light begins to flash. Turn the volume back down
until the light stops flashing and then turn it down one line more. Turn up the Master Volume until the sound is loud enough.
Using both a Microphone and Music Player
Turn the Master Volume all the way down to the far left position. Plug the microphone into the Mic In connector. Talk into the
microphone and turn up the knob over the Mic In until the red Input Overload light begins to flash. Turn the knob back down
until the red light stops flashing. Plug the CD/MP3 player into the Aux In connectors. Play back the loudest music on the
player and turn up the knob over the Aux In until the red lnput Overload light begins to flash. Turn the knob back down until
