recording time to be expected of the video sequences

or the number of the individual pictures (photos) which
can be memorized with corresponding memory capa-
city. The actual recording time depends on the com-
plexity of the picture contents, their frequency of
changing and the resulting compression ability of the
files and may therefore deviate from these standard
values. If e. g. a range is monitored in which changes
rarely occur the recording time can also be a multiple
of the time indicated.

release of the function "Capture" (⇒ chapter 5.3).

For mobile operation of the recorder, prior to the
first use, recharge the battery at least 8 h with the
recorder switched off [switch Power (20) in position
"Off"]. For this purpose connect the recorder to the
230 V mains or to the 12 V power supply of a car.
For the operation at the 12 V power supply of a car
connect the low voltage plug of the car adapter to the
jack DC 5 V (18) and connect the adapter to a corre-
sponding socket of the electric system of the car.
For the operation at the 230 V mains connect the
low voltage plug of the power supply unit to the jack
DC 5 V (18) and the power supply unit to a socket.
The infrared remote control is supplied with insert-
ed battery. Prior to the first use remove the insulation
strip from the battery compartment.
5 Operation
5.1 Switching the recorder on and off
