16. Before each use, check the heater for leaks.
a.
Do not use an open flame to check for leaks.
b.
Use a mixture of liquid soap and water to all joints. Bubbles forming show a leak.
c.
Correct all leaks immediately.
17. Do not use a damaged heater. Check the heater for damage before each use.
18. When the heater is to be stored indoors, the connection between the propane supply cylinder(s)
and the heater must be disconnected and the cylinder(s) removed from the heater and stored
in accordance with Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases, ANSI/
NFPA 58 and CAN/CSA B149.1 , Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code.
19. Inspect the hose assembly before each use. Do not use if the hose is damaged in any way.
20. This heater was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this heater or use it for
an unintended purpose.
21. Maintain heater with care (see Maintenance).
22. Operate this heater only on a stable and level surface.
23. Do not block the air inlet (top of base) or air outlet (around top of shell) of heater.
24. Keep the heater away from strong drafts, wind, water spray, rain, or dripping water.
25. Do not leave the heater running unattended.
26. Keep children and animals away from the heater.
27. Do not move, handle, or service a hot or operating heater. Wait 15 minutes after turning the
heater off or severe burns may result.
28. To prevent injury, always wear heat-resistant gloves when handling the heater.
29. Always disconnect the propane cylinder from the heater after each use.
30. Store propane cylinders outdoors in a well-ventilated space out of the reach of children.
a.
Do not store cylinders in a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
b.
Do not store cylinders near high heat, open flame, or where temperatures
exceed 49° C (120° F).
31. Turn off propane supply to heater when not in use.
32. Use only original replacement parts. This heater uses parts that are design-specific.
a.
Do not substitute or use generic parts. Improper replacement parts could cause serious or
fatal injuries.
33. Keep all connections and fittings clean.
a.
Ensure that the cylinder valve outlet is clean.
b.
Check the rubber O-ring on the heater inlet fuel connector for damage before each use and
replace if worn or damaged.
34. Keep any propane container at least 20 ft (6 m) away from the areas emitting heat at all times.
