Attaching the reflective tag (non-contact measurement only)
Attach the reflective tag to the rotating machine part after the
machine completely stops.
Contact adaptor and accessories
Screw the contact adaptor onto the tachometer – hand tightening is
sufficient, do not use tools!
The instrument is switched on by pressing the measuring button.
For contact measurements insert and align the
instrument with the tip straight and exactly in the
centre (turning axis) of the machine element.

Place measuring cone tip, funnel tip or wheel onto the
shaft – align pin and slot properly!
Tighten the shaft screw with an appropriate tool when
using the 12" measuring wheel.
Select the engineering unit. – Make sure that the
engineering unit matches with the operation mode
(contact, non-contact) and the measuring attachment.
Attach the appropriate accessory for your application.
Optimal distance for non-contact measurement is
approx. 50 cm (1 ½ ft) at a 10-30°
angle.
For speed and length measurement
use the measuring wheel and keep
the instrument in right (90°) angle to the moving
direction of the material.
Avoid any movement of the instrument itself while
