11. If
you wish
to
stop
the
tape
briefly, without depressing
the STOP/
EJECT
knob
(without releasing
the REC and
PLAY knobs), depress the PAUSE
knob.
12.
When the
end
of the tape is
reached
wh
ile
recording, both PLAY
and
REC knobswill automatically
return to their original positions.

To stop
the
recording before
the
end of
the tape, depress the STOP/EJECT knob. Depress again
the same
knob,
then
the casset1e
is
taken
out.
To Record
with
microphones
1.
Plug the
microphones into
L and R MIC jacks on the front panel
of
the recorder.
2.
Set
the INPUT
SELECT
knob
to the "MIC/DIN"
position.
3.
Follow ail the instructions given above
under
"To Record from the Amplifier/Receiver"
Erasure
of
Recordings
When
a
new recording
is
made.
any program
material previously
recorded
on
that
portion of
the tape
is
automatically
erased.
and
only
the new recording
remains.
To erase recorded without
mak
ing
a
new
recording, operate
the
recorder
in a normal manner for recording
without
any
input
connected to
MIC,
OIN or
LINE INPUT jacks, or
turn the line REC LEVEL controls fully counter clockwise.
Th is
will erase ail previous recording and leave you with a blank tape for brand-new
recordings.
Safeguard Against Accidentai Erasing
(See Figure 4 and 5 on page
22)
Every
time
a recording is made.
the
sound previoL1sly recorded
is
erased. To safeguard
valuable
record
ings
from being
erased accidentally,
the
cassette
and the recorder are
equipped
with special devices.
On
the
back of
the
cassette are
two
little
tabs.
If
you want to be sure that
a
recording
can
never be
erased
again, break
out
these tabs with a screw-
driver or similar tool. The resulting opening interlocks the
REC knob of
the
recorder. The REC knob
cannot
be
depressed
while this cassette is
inserted.
If only
one
track is to be
protected,
break
out only
the tab
at
the
left when
the tape
is in position
for
using that
track.

to
record on a
cassette
whose
tabs have been removed,
sirnply
caver the slot
with cello-
phane or
vinyl
tapes. then
record in
the
usual
way
.

Tape Tangle

Before playing
or recording
the tape,
make
sure the
tape is not
loosened
in
the cassette housing.
