Safety information for hedge trimmers (batte-
ry-powered)
a) Keep all parts of your body away from the
blade. When blades are running, never
attempt to remove cuttings or to hold the
material you want to cut. The blades will
continue to move after the switch is set to
OFF. A single moment of carelessness when
using the hedge trimmer can result in serious
injuries.
b) Carry the hedge trimmer by its handle
when the blade is stationary and be sure
not to press the switch. Carrying the hedge
trimmer correctly will reduce the risk of it
being switched on accidentally and resulting
in the blade causing an injury.
c) Always fi t the cover over the blade when
transporting the hedge trimmer or putting
it into storage. Careful handling of the hedge
trimmer will reduce the risk of injury by the
blade.
d) Make sure that all switches are OFF
and that the battery has been removed
or switched off before you remove any
jammed cuttings or carry out any main-
tenance on the machine. Unintentional ac-
tuation of the hedge trimmer while removing
jammed material can result in serious injuries.
e) Hold the the hedge trimmer only by the
insulated handles because the blade
might strike concealed power cables.
Contact between the blade and a live cable
can also make the metal parts of the equip-
ment live and result in an electric shock.
f)
Keep all power cables away from where
you are cutting. Cables hidden in hedges
and bushes might be cut accidentally by the
blade.
g) Never use the hedge trimmer in poor
weather conditions, especially if there is
a risk of lightning. This will reduce the risk
of being struck by lightning.
•
Do not carry several belt clips and/or several
shoulder straps at the same time.
•
Hold the hedge trimmer correctly, e.g. with
both hands if the equipment is fitted with two
handles.
