Protective Extra Low Voltage (PELV)!
The device is designed in accordance with protection class III for sup-
ply with PELV (Protective Extra-Low Voltage).
Initial commissioning
For commissioning, you need the LxSsoft configuration software. Download the
configuration software from the Internet:

Call up the Leuze website: www.leuze.com.
Ä
Enter the type designation or part number of the device as the search term.
Ä
The configuration software can be found on the product page for the device
under the Downloads tab.
The line profile sensor is configured via Ethernet with a PC and installed LxSsoft
configuration software before being integrated in the process control.

Connect voltage supply (connection X1) and Ethernet (connection X2).
Ä
Switch on the supply voltage; the green LED must light up. The sensor dis-
play shows the alignment aid and the status display.
Ä
Set the Ethernet address on the PC (Firewall ports to be opened: ports 9008
+ 5634).
LxS 36 factory setting: IP address 192.168.060.003, net mask 255.255.255.0.
Ä
Install the LxSsoft configuration software.
Ä
Configure the line profile sensor with the LxSsoft configuration software.
