MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC MODES OF OPERATION
During the break-in period, only manual use of the fireplace
controller is permitted. In manual mode, the air control lever moves
when it is moved by hand. The controller mode can be changed
between automatic and manual mode by turning the switch dial.
The controller's switch dial is located behind the front panel ( Figures
2–3). You can remove the front panel by slightly lifting it at the lower
Heat-retaining sensor
edge and by pulling it backwards. A chisel-headed screw driver or
a coin that fits into the slot are suitable tools for turning the dial.
You can start automatic use of the fireplace controller after the
break-in period. When the fireplace controller operates in automatic
mode, you cannot manually move the air control lever. When you
return the device from the manual (MAN) position back to the
automatic (AUTO) position, turn the rotary switch to CAL position
for short time and return to (AUTO). The air control lever will move

back and forth for a moment, seeking the correct automatic position.
If air control lever does not move or it is on wrong position, turn
the controller's switch dial to calibration position (CAL) and return
the switch to automatic position (AUTO).
