Horse and cattle shearing machine GT 474/GT 674 and cutter head GT 367
9. Removing the cutter head
Be sure to unplug the machine before removing the cutter
head!
Remove both screws 6. Then turn the cutter head very slightly
(about 15°) counterclockwise.
The cutter head can now be removed from the motor (see fig.).
The cutter head should be carefully re-attached to the motor after
it has been thoroughly cleaned and its gear wheel has been lightly
greased (see section 6). When re-attaching the cutter head, it
should be turned 15° counterclockwise in such a way that its lower
flange engages with the groove of the motor housing.
10. Cleaning the air filters
The two air filters attached at the rear of the motor should be
removed daily for hand-cleaning (more often if they become
clogged), or for cleaning with a suitable tool such as a screwdriver.
The air filters should be thoroughly cleaned with a brush in warm
water.
After drying, the air filters should be re-attached to the machine,
which should be cleaned beforehand.
Important
Clean the air filters frequently in order to ensure that the motor is
adequately air-cooled during operation.
Under no circumstances should the machine be run without air filters
in place!
11. Maintenance and repairs
The cutter head should be cleaned after every few days of shearing
time.
To do this, remove the cutter head from the motor housing (see
section 9) and the cutter plates (see section 7).
Then use a soft cleaning brush or paintbrush to give the interior
surfaces of the cutter head and other unit components a thorough
cleaning.
After carefully reassembling the machine, the cutter head should
be oiled according to the instructions in section 5.
In order to avoid damaging the unit, we recommend that you
contact your dealer, who can supply you with replacement parts,
and can also repair your machine properly.
Before any work is done on the machine, it should always be
unplugged!
