Introduction
The Testboy® TB 313 is a multimeter for universal
use. The tester is manufactured to the latest safety
guidelines and guarantees safe and reliable work.
The multimeter is a valuable aid for all standard
measuring tasks in the trade or industrial sectors, as
well as for home enthusiasts.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Only use the
safety test leads provided or equivalent test
leads that satisfy the correct measuring cat-
egory CAT III 600 V.

• To avoid possible electric shock, the precaution-
ary measures are to be observed when working
with voltages larger than 120 V (60 V) for direct
current voltage or 50 V (25 V) eff. alternating cur-
rent voltage. These values according to DIN VDE
also represent the limit for touchable voltages.
(values in brackets apply for e.g. medicinal or
agricultural sectors).
• Before each measurement, ensure that the test
lead and the tester are in a fault-free condition.
• The test leads and test tips may only touched
using the hand grips provided. The touching of the
test tips is to be avoided under all circumstances.
• The tester may only be used in the specified
measuring ranges.
According to EN 61010-1, the following measuring
categories are defined:
Measuring category CAT II
Measurements on current circuits that are directly
electrically connected to the mains, via plugs in the
home, offices or laboratories.
Measuring category CAT III
Measurements on building installations: Stationary
consumer, distributor connection, devices integrated
on the distributor.
Measuring category CAT IV
Measurements at the source of low-voltage installa-
tions: Meters, primary overvoltage protection, main
connections.
Direct current voltage measurement / V=
Set the rotary switch to the appropriate range. Con-
nect the black test lead to the "COM" socket and the
red test lead to the V/Ω/TEMP/CAP socket. Connect
the test leads to the test object. Read off measured
result from the display. The polarity of the voltage is
also displayed.
Accuracy
± 0.5 % v.M.+ 1 digit
± 0.5 % v.M.+ 3 digit
± 0.8 % v.M.+ 3 digit
