GB
• To avoid electric shock, the precautionary meas-
ures must be observed when working with volt-
ages higher than 70 V (35 V) at direct current volt-
age or 33 V (16 V) eff. alternating current voltage.
According to DIN VDE, these values constitute
the limit for exposed voltages. (values in brackets
apply for e.g. medicinal or agricultural sectors).
• Before each measurement, ensure that the meas-
uring lead and the tester are in a fault-free condi-
tion.
• The measuring leads and test tips may be
touched only at the hand grips provided. Touching
the test tips must be avoided under all circum-
stances.
• The tester may be used only within the specified
measuring ranges.
• Before each use, the product must be checked for
fault-free function (e.g. at a known voltage source,
see also DIN VDE 0105, part 1).
• Avoid dusty and humid environments.
• The person responsible or user should refer to the
instructions for use in order to guarantee safety. If
the product is not used in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications, the level of safety
guaranteed by the product cannot be maintained.
• All parts of the product and its accessories must
not be replaced by parts that have not been certi-
fied by the manufacturer or its suppliers.
• The tester may be used only within the specified
measuring ranges.
• The product may be used only under the condi-
tions and for the purposes for which it was
designed. Particular attention must be paid to the
safety instructions, the technical data with the
environmental conditions and use in a dry envi-
ronments.
• Do not operate the product in the proximity of
welding machines, induction heaters and other
electromagnetic fields.
• After abrupt changes of temperature, the product
must be adapted to the new ambient temperature
for approx. 30 minutes before use to stabilise the
IR sensor.
• Do not expose the product to high temperatures
for a prolonged period.
• Measuring devices and accessories are not toys
and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• In commercial establishments, the accident pre-
vention instructions of the Institution of Commer-
cial Trade Associations for Electrical Installations
and Equipment must be observed.
• Symbols appearing on your product must not be
removed or covered. Signs on the product that
are no longer legible must be replaced immedi-
ately.
Read and observe the instructions for use
before using the product for the first time.
Further hazard sources are e.g. mechani-
cal parts, which can lead to serious physi-
cal injury.
There is also a hazard for property (e.g.
damage to the product).
26
Electric shock can lead to death or to seri-
ous injury to persons and present a hazard
to the function of objects (e.g. damage to
the product).
Safety regulations
Please observe the five safety rules:
1. Deactivate
2. Secure against reactivation
3. Establish voltage-free state (voltage-free state
must be established at 2 poles)
4. Earth and short-circuit
5. Cover adjacent live parts
