Unpacking and commissioning
Installation and commissioning
• The equipment must be installed on a horizontal level surface able to withstand the total weight of the
water filled equipment.
• In order to avoid vibrations, the equipment must be placed on an elastic base (e.g. a rubber mat).
• For stationary use, the equipment can be firmly anchored to the base through 4 bolts.
• When used in garden ponds and swimming pools, the equipment must be installed so as to be protected
against overflow and falls. All additional legal requirements must be complied with.
• The place where the equipment is installed must be well ventilated and protected against the weather.
• For indoor operation, ensure there is a drain on the floor or a leak prevention mechanism.
• Prior to starting up, check the suction hose to ensure that it is sealed. Air bubbles in the suction hose
means there are leaks that may result in equipment failure.
Suction line connection
Danger of equipment damage
The suction line must be installed so as not to exert any mechanical stress or tension on the
pump.
¡ATTENTION! If the pumped fluid is contaminated, a suction filter shall be used to protect the

pump against sand and mud.
Nota:
i
To prevent the water from flowing back when the pump is stopped, the provision of a check
valve is recommended
• All connections must be sealed with hemp and thick paste (Fermit) or thread sealing tape (e.g. Teflon
tape); leaks result in air discharge, which reduce or hamper the water discharge.
• Hemp shall be used in case of metallic pipe threads; synthetic threads must be sealed with thread sealing
tape.
• All the components of the suction line must be installed professionally.
• The suction pipe must be a minimum of 25 mm diameter; it must be kink-proof and adequate for vacuum
service.
• The suction line must be as short as possible, since the pumping flow rate reduces when the length of
the line increases.
• The suction line must be continually ascending towards the pump in order to prevent air pockets.
• Enough water flow must always be guaranteed; the end of the suction line must always be into the water.
