Warning: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery is removed before making any adjustments on the tool.
Installing the side grip (Fig. 3-4)
Warning: Always be sure that the side grip is installed correctly and tightened securely before operation. If not, it may damage the tool and cause serious
personal injury.
• Make sure the screw thread on the side grip aligns with the hole on the tool, hold the tool
firmly with one hand, then screw the side grip onto the tool as far as it can go.
• The side grip can be attached on the left or right side of the tool.
Installing or removing disc guard for grinding (Fig. 5-6)
Warning:
• When using a grinding disc, the disc guard for grinding must be fitted on the tool so that the
closed side of the guard always points toward the operator.
• Always be sure that the disc guard is installed correctly and tightened securely before
operation. If not it may cause serious personal injury.

1. Loosen the screw (3) by turning it counterclockwise a little and then pull the lever (4) in the
direction of the arrow.
2. Mount the disc guard (1) with the maximal protrusions (5) on the disc guard band aligned with the
maximal notches (6) on the bearing box (2).
3. Rotate the disc guard to such an angle that it can protect the operator according to the task at hand.

4. Pull the lever (2) in the direction of the arrow. Then, tighten the disc guard by turning the screw (1)
clockwise.
- Be sure to tighten the screw securely.
- Note: The angle of the disc guard can be adjusted with the lever.
• To remove the disc guard, follow the installation procedure in reverse.
Installing or removing disc guard for cutting (Fig. 7)
Warning:
• When using an abrasive cut-off disc, the disc guard for cutting must be fitted on the tool so that the closed
side of the guard always points toward the operator.
• Use abrasive cut-off discs only with the disc guard for cutting.
• To install or remove the disc guard for cutting (1), follow the installation or removing procedure of the disc
guard for grinding.
Installing or removing grinding disc (Fig. 8-11)
Warning:
• When using a grinding disc, the disc guard for grinding must be fitted on the tool so that the closed side
of the guard always points toward the operator.
• Make sure that the mounting part of the inner flange fits into the inner diameter of the grinding disc
perfectly. Mounting the inner flange on the wrong side may result in dangerous vibration.
To install the grinding disc:
1. Mount the inner flange (1) onto the spindle (2). Make sure to fit the dented part of the inner flange onto
the straight part at the bottom of the spindle.
2. Fit the grinding disc (4) on the inner flange (1).
3. Turn clockwise to screw the lock nut (5) onto the spindle as far as it can go. Make sure that the dented part
of the lock nut is facing upwards.
4. Tighten the lock nut (5), press the shaft lock (7) firmly so that the spindle cannot revolve, then use the lock
nut wrench (6) and securely tighten clockwise.
To remove the grinding disc:
Follow the installation procedure in reverse.
