Grinding and sanding (Fig. 16)
When using a new grinding disc, do not work the grinder in a forward direction or it may cut into the workpiece.
Once the edge of the disc has been rounded off by use, the disc may be worked in both forward and backward
direction.
Cutting with a cut-off disc (Fig. 17)
Warning:
• When using an abrasive cut-off disc, be sure to use only the special disc guard designed for use with
cut-off discs.
- Note: In some European countries, when using a diamond disc, the ordinary guard can be used. Follow the regulations in your country.
• Never use cut-off discs for grinding.
• Do not "jam" the disc or apply excessive pressure. Do not attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Overstressing the disc increases the risk of it twisting
and binding in the cut, which can lead to kickback, disc breakage and overheating of the motor.
• Do not start cutting if the disc is touching the workpiece. Let the disc reach full speed and carefully start cutting. The disc may bind, climb out or kickback
if it starts rotating while it is touching the workpiece.
• During cutting operations, never change the angle of the disc. Applying side pressure on the cut-off disc (as in grinding) will cause the disc to crack and
break, causing serious personal injury.
• Abrasive cut-off discs must always be operated perpendicular to the material being cut.
Note:
• If the tool is operated continuously until the battery has discharged, allow the tool to rest for 15 minutes
before proceeding with a fresh battery.
• Do not cover vents (Fig. 17) when working as this may cause tool damage due to overheating.
MAINTENANCE
Caution:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery is removed before performing any maintenance
work on the tool.
• Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.
Air vent cleaning (Fig. 18-19)
• The tool and its air vents have to be kept clean. Regularly clean the tool's air vents or whenever the vents
start to become obstructed.
• Remove the dust cover from the intake vent and clean it to ensure smooth air circulation. Continuing
operation with a clogged dust cover may damage the tool.
Tips for maintaining maximum battery life
• Charge the battery before completely discharged. Always stop tool operation and charge the battery when
you notice less tool power.
• Never recharge a fully charged battery. Overcharging shortens the battery service life.
• Charge the battery with room temperature at 5 °C - 45 °C. Let a hot battery cool down before charging it.
• Charge the battery if you do not use it for a long period (more than six months).
ENVIRONMENTAL DISPOSAL
In order to avoid damages on transportation, the tool has to be delivered in solid packaging. Packaging as well
as the unit and accessories are made of recyclable materials and can be disposed accordingly. The tool's plastics
components are marked according to their material, which makes it possible to remove environmental friendly
and differentiated because of available collection facilities.
Only for EU countries
Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste material!
In observance of European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in accordance with
national law, electric tools that have reached the end of their life must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible
recycling facility.
