GENERAL DIRECTIONS
Place the appliance on a stable and heat-resistant
surface. Prepare the ingredients. Prepare a plate
or bowl so that you can serve the food when it is
ready. Do not put cooked food on the plate on which
raw food is or was located! See also the chapter on
hygiene. Also keep a pair of tongs and cutlery and
possibly an oven glove handy for handling food in the
hot grill.
•
Insert the plug into the wall socket; the power
button (12) will flash.
•
A short beep will sound with each key press.
•
Press the Power button. The buttons for the
programme (16) will flash and the manual mode
(18) light will illuminate.
•
Select a programme or select manual mode by
pressing the corresponding button. Now the
power light (12) will flash red to indicate that the
grill is preheating. This will take a maximum of 8
minutes.
•
If manual mode has been selected, the desired
temperature can be set between 120° and 230°
with the +/- button (17).
•
If one of the 5 programmes is selected,
the display will show the corresponding
temperature.
•
Once the grill is preheated, the Power Light (12)
will turn off and the Start Light (13) will turn
green.
•
In manual mode, by pressing button 18 again,
you can now set the time using the +/- buttons
(17). The time can be set in 1 minute increments
from 1 minute to 60 minutes.
You can now alternately set the time or
temperature by pressing button 18.
•
Once you have entered the desired settings,
place the food in the grill. Note: the grill plates
are already preheated and very hot. Be sure to
use a pair of tongs and/or oven gloves.
•
Only select rare/medium/well-done (lights 14)
AFTER the food has been placed in the grill.
Approximately 5 seconds after the food has been
placed in it, the cooking lights (14) will flash.
Using the +/- button (17) you can now select one
of the 3 preparation methods. The time on the
display will change accordingly. If no choice is
made after 5 seconds, the grill will automatically
select the "well-done" setting. The grill will
now also select the correct setting because the
thickness sensor detects the thickness of the
food.
NOTE: cooking time can only be selected if one of the
automatic programmes has been selected and not in
manual mode. In manual mode, the preparation is set
by selecting the desired time setting.
•
As soon as the timer reaches 0, the heat switches
off. You will now hear 3 beeps. Switch off the grill
with the on/off button (19).
•
To select a new programme when finished, first
switch the grill off and then on again (button 19)
in order to reset the settings.
•
When used as a full surface grill/table grill, the
pre-programmed functions cannot be used and
the preparation setting is not available. In this
position, the temperature and time must be set
manually.
After using the grill, wait for it to cool down before
removing the grease drip pan to empty it. The grease
may still be hot! See further directions under the
chapter "Cleaning".
TIPS FOR USE
•
For food safety purposes, we recommend that
you consult an appropriate recipe for most
preparations. Be sure to choose the "well-done"
preparation for chicken and poultry.
•
The settings for rare/medium/well-done are
intended for steak, fish and vegetables. Blue
rare or rare preparations are sometimes chosen
for some lamb and pigeon dishes, for example.
Consult an appropriate recipe for this.
•
Keep in mind that the grill plates will remain hot
to warm for a long time after the grill has been
switched off, which will result in after-cooking.
Immediately remove the food from the grill once
the programme has finished.
•
Cooking will generally take between 2 to 20
minutes. Due to the type of food and the desired
preparation (personal taste), it is best to
experiment with time and temperature settings.
