d) Charging the vehicle battery
Refer to the information in sections 6 and 7. Numerous hazards are associated with improper handling of
the vehicle battery and the battery charger.
The vehicle battery is empty when the product is shipped and must be charged. Several complete dis-
charge and charge cycles are required to ensure that the battery reaches it maximum performance.
You do not need to discharge partially charged Li-ion batteries before charging. However, to ensure maxi-
mum performance, ensure that the battery is regularly discharged and then fully charged again.
The vehicle comes with a USB charger to charge the vehicle battery. Use a USB power adapter (not included) to
power the USB charger. This must be able to deliver an output current of at least 1 A.
Do not connect the USB charger to a computer USB port, as these normally deliver a current of less
than 1 A.
Proceed as follows:
• If you have not already done so, switch off the vehicle (move the switch to "OFF") and insert the vehicle battery
(see section 8. c).
• Connect the USB plug on the USB charger to the USB power supply (e.g. a USB power adapter).
• Then insert the round plug on the end of the USB charger to
the corresponding socket on the vehicle. This is located on
the side of the chassis behind the right-hand front wheel (see
arrow in right-hand diagram).
• The LED in the USB charger indicates the charging progress:
Red LED: Battery is charging
LED is off: The battery is full/fully charged
• Disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle when charg-
ing is complete. A full charge takes approximately 65 min-
utes.
• Disconnect the USB charger from the power supply.
