The printer and accompanying information should be packaged in ad-
equate protective packaging. In-transit damage is not covered by the
one-year limited warranty; Hewlett-Packard suggests that you insure
the shipment to the service center. It is your responsibility to pay
shipping charges for delivery to the Hewlett-Packard service center. If
the unit is under warranty, the serviced printer is returned to you
with postage prepaid. For out-of-warranty service in the United States
and some countries, the unit is returned C.O.D. (covering shipping
costs and the service charge).
There is a standard charge for out-of-warranty service that includes
labor and materials. In the United States, the full charge is subject to
the customer's local sales tax. In European countries, the full charge is
subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) and similar taxes wherever appli-
cable. All such taxes will appear as separate items on invoiced
amounts. Any out-of-warranty service is warranted against defects in
materials and workmanship for a period of 90 days from the date of
service.
Calculator products damaged by accident or misuse are not covered
by the fixed service charges. In these situations, service charges will
be individually determined based on time and material.
A service support agreement is available for your product. Refer to
the literature included in the box. For additional information, please
contact the Calculator Service Center; the address and phone number
are listed on the previous page.
Safety and Regulatory Information
For your protection, the printer has been tested to various national
and international regulatory standards. This regulatory testing in-
cludes electrical/mechanical safely, radio interference, ergonomics,
acoustics, and hazardous materials. Where required, approvals ob-
tained from third-party test agencies are shown on bottom of the
product. (Certain regulatory information for other countries is pro-
vided in this manual in other languages.)
