Warning:
❖ The tow vehicle manufacturers recommended towing capacities should
❖ Check for adequate clearance between the trailer and the rear of the cab and the rear of the truck box before installing hitch.
❖ All trucks have fuel lines, brake lines and electrical wiring located along the vehicle frame where the rail kit installs. Carefully examine
the location of fuel lines, brake lines and electrical wires before installation and be certain not to damage these when positioning the
hitch components. Be careful when drilling holes, cutting sheet metal and tightening fasteners as to not limit the integrity of these
systems.
Determine Model Year and Bracket Condition To See If Additional Kits Are Required For Installation
For vehicles with model years 2017 - 2022
• If the vehicle DOES have factory welded Inner Frame Brackets (Item #19) as shown in Figure 5, no additional kits are required
• If the vehicle DOES NOT have factory welded Inner Frame Brackets (Item #19) as shown in Figure 5, Reese Inner Bracket
Kit (30184) is required for installation
For vehicles with model years 2023 or newer
• If the vehicle DOES have factory welded Inner Frame Brackets (Item #19)as shown in Figure 5, Reese Adapter Kit (30924) is
required for installation
• If the vehicle DOES NOT have factory welded Inner Frame Brackets (Item #19) as shown in Figure 5, Reese Inner Bracket
Kit (30184) and Reese Adapter Kit (30924) are required for installation.
NOTE: Model year 2023+ applications with Ford OE Ride Height Sensors may require Outer Frame Brackets (Item #1 and #2) to
be trimmed to fit
Pickup Bed Removal
1.
Remove the tailgate from the pickup bed.
• Open the tailgate.
• Detach tailgate tether cables on each side (with the helping hands of an assistant).
• Remove tailgate from pickup bed.
2.
If equipped, remove bed liner insert.
• Spray on bed liners are acceptable.
• Plastic bed liner inserts can NOT be reinstalled after 5
Caution: Handle pickup bed
with extra care during removal
process to avoid damage to
the truck cab or the bed finish.
