TROUBLESHOOTING
In the event you experience trouble operating your plucker, follow the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide in this section. The guide
will help you pinpoint the causes of common problems and identify remedies.
In case of a service problem, DO NOT send unit back to retailer. Contact Yardbird, at 800-345-6007, Monday through Friday, 8am to
4:30pm, or visit www.yardbirdpluckers.com.
PROBLEM
Unit will not start
Unit stops during plucking
Skin on birds is tearing
Feathers are not being removed

REMEDY/ACTION
Reset GFCI
Press power button
Align safety switch on tub to chassis plate
NOTE: Switch must be adjusted close enough to magnetic
read switch in order to function properly.
Birds were placed in before starting unit. Remove birds
from tub and press power switch and allow to come up to
speed before placing birds in tub.
Unit is jammed. Unplug GFCI and remove obstruction.
Unit is jammed. Power off unit and unplug GFCI. Remove
obstruction.
Tub became unlatched and safety switch unlocked.
Relatch tub. Use carabiners to secure tub latches.
Unit became overloaded and tripped fuse on side of
motor. Reset fuse on motor.
GFCI tripped. Attempt to reset GFCI. If GFCI continues to
trip, contact Yardbird Customer Service.
Weight of birds is too much.
Birds were scalded too long or at too high of temperature.
Bird was left in unit too long.
Bird is not scalded long enough or at too low of
temperature.
Plucking fingers are old or damaged. Replace fingers.
