Individuals who have not read the instruction manual and
are not familiarized with how to operate the brush cutter
must not use it.
Pay attention to the area where the appliance will be used
and check for potential obstacles (rocks, tree stumps,
roots, ditches), objects (coiled wires, metal parts) or loose
stones. In case it is not possible to remove these objects or
obstacles, mark them so that they do not come into contact
with the cutting attachments when using the equipment.
Before starting the brush cutter:
▪ Carry out an inspection to ensure correct assembly of the
split brush cutter, safety issues and good performance
of the appliance;
▪ Check that the safety devices are in perfect condition
and function properly. Never use the power tool if the
safety devices are missing, inhibited, damaged or worn
out;
▪ Check that the shoulder harness and attachments are in
perfect condition and properly assembled;
▪ Replace defective parts, as all other worn and damaged
ones;
▪ After the attachments assembly and before using the
power tool, test it at full speed with no load for a while.
Check for moving parts misalignment or any other
condition that may affect the brush cutter operation.
Check that all moving parts run smoothly, without
abnormal noises;
▪ Carry out all the necessary adjustments and work. If you
have any questions or difficulties, contact your official
VITO distributor.
Keep third parties at least 15m away from the cordless
split brush cutter area of operation. Never work while
animals or people, especially children, are in the danger
zone. When using a brush cutter, particles can be ejected
at high speed which can cause injury.
Also keep a safe distance from objects (vehicles and glass)
in order to avoid material damage.
When two or more people are working simultaneously in the
same area from each other, they must keep a safe distance
in order to prevent accidents and injuries.
Work only in daylight or with good artificial lighting. Do not
operate the cordless split brush cutter at night or when it is
not possible to have a clear view of the work area.
Never work with the brush cutter when adverse
meteorological conditions such as dense fog, rain or strong
wind, storms or lightning.
Walk, never run during operation and look carefully to the
area where you will use the blade and the nylon line. You
should also never cut the grass walking backwards as you
could stumble.
While using the appliance, place yourself into a stable
position and keep balance. Do not use the appliance in
slippery, irregular or unstable surfaces, or in a lumpy
terrain.
Keep all your body parts away from the cutting
attachment while using the brush cutter.
Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection,
anti-slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves,
helmet and shin guards properly reduces the risk of injury.
Clothing worn during the appliance operation must be
adequate, tight and closed, for example, a work boiler suit.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
