The arrow symbol indicates special information and tips on how to use the product.
Safety information
Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety instructions.
If you do not follow the safety information and information on proper handling in these

a) General information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous toy for
children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flammable gases,
vapours and solvents. Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may damage the
product.
• Only clear, clean fresh water (temperature max. +38 °C) is allowed as the pumped liquid. The
product is not suitable for controlling the conveyance of drinking water and is not suitable for
controlling the conveyance of corrosive/caustic, flammable or explosive liquids (e.g. petrol,
heating oil, cellulose thinner), fats, oils, salt water or waste water from toilet facilities.
• Check the product for damages before each use. If you discover any damages, you must not
use the product.
• In the place of operation the ambient temperature must not be around or under the freezing
point (<0 °C). Otherwise, the water in the product will freeze, with the resulting ice build-up
causing the product to destruct. Store the product in a dry place above freezing point during
winter.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to
this product.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Battery information
• Operation with rechargeable batteries is possible. However, the operating time is reduced by
the lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V). Therefore, we recommend
operating the product only with high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure long and reliable op-
eration.
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by chil-
dren or pets. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is swallowed. Risk of death!
• Always ensure that the batteries are inserted in the correct polarity (observe the plus/+ and
minus/- symbols).
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown
into a fire. This may cause a fire or explosion!
• Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as this may cause an explosion. Only
charge rechargeable batteries; use a suitable battery charger.
• Old or flat batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the product. If not used for a
longer period (e.g., in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Contact of leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are chemically highly aggressive. Objects
or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids could be severely damaged. Therefore, keep
batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries. Do not mix non-recharge-
able/rechargeable batteries with different charges (flat and half-discharged non-rechargeable/
rechargeable batteries).
• Use either 2 batteries or 2 rechargeable batteries; never mix standard batteries with recharge-
able batteries. Use only non-rechargeable/rechargeable batteries of the same model and type
and from the same manufacturer.
• For the correct disposal of batteries, please read the chapter "Disposal".

Inserting batteries, replacing batteries
• Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it backwards.
• Insert two AAA/Micro batteries into the battery compartment, paying attention to the correct polarity (ob-
serve positive/+ and negative/-). The respective figure in the battery compartment will help you ensure that
you have the correct polarity.
• After inserting the batteries, all display segments will appear briefly, after which the water timer is ready
for operation.
• Close the battery compartment again. Ensure that the sealing ring on the battery compartment cover is
in the correct position.
• The batteries will need to be replaced if the display contrast fades sharply or the symbol for the battery
