WELDING PROCESSES
• Standard
This standard MMA welding mode is suitable for most welding applications. It is suitable for welding with all types of coated, rutile, basic and cellulosic
electrodes and on all materials: steel, stainless steel and cast iron.
• Pulse
The pulsed MMA welding mode is suitable for upright (PF) applications. Pulsing keeps the weld pool colder while still promoting material transfer.
Without pulsing, vertical rising welds require a «fir tree» movement, i.e. a challenging triangular movement. With MMA Pulse, this movement is not
necessary, and depending on the thickness of your workpiece, a straight upward movement may be sufficient. However, if you want to enlarge your
weld pool, a simple sideways movement similar to flat welding will be adequate. If this is the case, you can set the frequency of your current pulse on
the display. This process offers greater control of vertical welding tasks.
CHOOSING COATED ELECTRODES
• Rutile electrodes: very easy to use in any position.
• Basic electrodes: it can be used in all positions and is suitable for safety work due to its increased mechanical properties.
• Cellulosic electrodes: a very powerful arc with a high melting speed, its ability to be used in all positions makes it especially suitable for
pipeline work.

ADJUSTING THE WELDING INTENSITY
The following settings indicate the usable current range depending on the type and diameter of the electrode. The ranges are quite broad, as they vary
depending on the application and the welding position.

%
Hot Start is an overcurrent at the ignition stage which prevents the electrode from sticking to the workpiece. The
intensity (% of welding current) and the time (seconds) can be programmed.
s
A
The welding current is determined by the type of electrode chosen (see electrode packaging).
Arc Force is an overcurrent delivered to prevent sticking when the electrode or the droplet comes into contact
%
with the weld pool.

Pulse
The type of electrode will determine specific parameters according to
the elecrode profile, in order to optimise weldability.
The anti-stick feature is recommended to safely remove the electrode in
the event of it sticking to the workpiece (the current is cut off automati-
cally).
