7.2
QFP Soldering
1.
Apply solder paste. Apply the proper quantity of paste and flux. Place the SMD
onto the PCB.
2.
Preheat the SMD.
3.
Solder by heating the SMD evenly.
4.
When soldering is completed, wash the area with flux remover.
Note
Always use lead-free soldering. Working with lead-free solder requires a working
temperature of about 30 °C (54 °F) higher than typical 60/40 lead/tin soldering.
7.3
QFP De-Soldering
1.
Melt the solder. Hold the air gun so that the nozzle is located directly over but not
touching the IC. Allow the hot air to melt the solder and be careful not to touch the
leads of the IC with the nozzle.
2.
Once the solder has melted, remove the IC with pliers or tweezers.
3.
Switch off the station. Do not disconnect from the mains as long as the unit blows
cooling air through the air gun.
4.
Remove any remaining solder with a wick or de-soldering tool.
8.
Switching Off the Station
1.
After use, place the air gun in its holder and switch off the station.
2.
After switching off, leave the power cord plugged in for a few minutes. When you
switch off the unit, the automatic cooling function blows cooling air through the
heater pipe for a short period. This protects the heater from damage and extends
its lifetime. Do not disconnect the mains plug during this cooling process.
3.
Wait until the cooling process has stopped, then disconnect the power plug. The
device uses a small amount of electrical power, even if it is switched off.
9.
Care and Maintenance
9.1
General
Only perform the maintenance as described in this user manual. Contact an
authorised dealer or service agent for any other maintenance or repair.
If the air gun or station becomes faulty or, for some reason does not operate
normally, return it to the service department of your authorized dealer or service
agent.
Clean the outer cover of the air gun and station with a damp cloth and a small
amount of liquid detergent. Never submerge the unit in liquid or allow any liquid to
enter the case of the station. Never use any solvent to clean the case.
Use only original replacement parts.
9.2
Storing
Store the appliance, its accessories and this user manual in the original packaging.
Always store in a cool and dry place.
