OPERATING THE CULTIVATOR
See Figure 6.
Hold the cultivator attachment with your right hand on the
rear handle and your left hand on the front handle. Keep a
firm grip with both hands while in operation.
In nearly all types of soil, it is not necessary or recommended
to operate the cultivator attachment at full throttle. Doing so
consistently will shorten the life of the engine and drivetrain.
Partial throttle will usually be sufficient.
WARNING:
Keep hands and feet away from the rotating tines. Rotat-
ing tines will cause serious personal injury.
NOTE: The tines of the cultivator may rotate when the engine
or motor is started.
Move the cultivator to the work area before starting the
engine or motor.
With the cultivator on flat level ground, start the engine or
motor of the power head. Refer to the operator's manual
of your power head.
WARNING:
Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the machine,
shut off engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
disconnect spark plug wire and move it away from spark
plug. Failure to follow these instructions can result in
serious personal injury or property damage.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible
serious injury.
WARNING:
When servicing, use only recommended or equivalent
replacement parts. Use of any other parts could create
a hazard or cause product damage.
OPERATION
Hold the handles firmly, depress the trigger to increase
the engine speed to a moderate speed, then lower the
cultivator so the tines can make contact with the ground.
Pull the cultivator carefully toward you while it is digging
into the soil's surface.
NOTE: Pulling the cultivator carefully toward you while it
is digging into the soil will reduce your effort and make
the tilling easier.
WARNING:
To avoid personal injury, never carry the cultivator while
the engine or motor is running. Move the cultivator to the
work area before starting the engine or motor.
WARNING:
After extended periods of use, the cultivator gearbox may
become hot. To avoid burns, do not touch the gearbox
until it has had time to cool down.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
