6. Getting started

Risk of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly.
Do not throw the battery into a fire.
Only replace batteries with the same type or an
equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufac-
turer's specifications.
6.1. Setting up the CD compartment
Press P U S H O P E N on the front of the CD compartment to open it.
Remove the cardboard from the CD compartment.
Close the CD compartment by gently pressing the compartment lid down.
6.2. Replacing the battery in the remote control
On delivery the battery is already inserted in the remote control. To activate it, pull
out the insulating strip on the underside of the remote control.
The remote control requires a 3 V coin battery, type CR 2025.
Press on the catch and pull the battery compartment out.
Remove the empty battery.
Put a new battery in the battery compartment with the positive pole facing up-
wards. Ensure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery.
Slide the battery compartment in until it clicks into place.
6.3. Battery operation – inserting the batteries into
the main device
The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.
Release both latches and remove the battery compartment cover.
Insert six 1.5 V R14/LR14/C batteries (not supplied). Refer to the diagram in the
battery compartment!
Replace the battery compartment cover. The latches must be locked into place.
If no power supply is connected to the A C I N connector, the device will be pow-
ered by the batteries. The device is in standby mode.
