3.3. Installation location
• The device should only be placed on level, stable surfaces.
• Protect the device from knocks and vibrations.
• The device and the mains adapter may only be operated in
dry indoor environments and under the environmental condi-
tions specified in the Technical Specifications.
• After transporting the device, wait until it has reached ambi-
ent temperature before switching it on. This prevents conden-
sation leading to the formation of moisture inside the device
and a resulting electrical short circuit.
Make sure that you do the following:
• The ventilation slots are not covered (e.g. by magazines, ta-
blecloths) to ensure adequate ventilation at all times.
• Do not expose the device to direct sources of heat (e.g. heat-
ers, sunlight).
• Do not place naked flames (such as lit candles) near or on the
device.
• Avoid contact with moisture, water and splashes. Do not
place any objects filled with liquid, such as vases, on or next
to the device.
• Do not place the device close to magnetic fields (e.g. televi-
sions or speakers).
3.4. Power supply
• Only operate the protection class II device on a 220–240 V~,
50/60 Hz earthed power outlet that is close by and easy to
access or by inserting 6× 1.5 V, R14/LR14/C batteries into the
battery compartment.
• Make sure that the mains cable does not present a trip haz-
ard. The mains cable must not be trapped or pinched or run
across hot surfaces.
• Do not place any objects on the cable as this may damage it.
