1.1
Hazard warnings
The general hazard warnings when handling
lithium batteries apply.
With regard to the danger posed by lithium batter-
ies (e.g. thermal runaway), the respective safety
data sheets and safety information provided by the
battery/device manufacturer must be observed!
Leaking fluids and gases may be hazardous to
health and flammable.
i
Danger!
Lithium batteries may cause serious
damage to persons or property.
Employees must be instructed on the dangers
when handling lithium batteries. We recommend
performing a risk assessment related to lithium bat-
teries, particularly in terms of handling and storage.
If it is not possible to store the Li-SAFE BOX any-
where other than inside a building, in the event of
damage they must be immediately moved into the
open (your own safety comes first!)
1. Prepare an emergency plan for cases of dam-
age.
2. In case of emergency, notify the fire brigade.
3. In case of fire, all employees must leave the
room as quickly as possible.
4. A pungent smell when opening the Li-SAFE
BOX indicates damage to at least one of the
lithium batteries contained in it (PPE obliga-
tory).
1.2
Employee qualification
1. Instruct employees on the correct packaging
methods (see packaging aid).
2. When using as a means of transport, additional
ADR training is recommended (special require-
ments and packaging instructions).
3. It is crucial that employees have knowledge of
the indicators as to whether a lithium battery is
intact, defective/damaged or critically defec-
tive/damaged. If necessary, engage external
experts or the manufacturer of the lithium
battery.
1.3
Intended use
The Li-SAFE BOX may only be used for lithium
batteries in accordance with the applicable provi-
sions, safety regulations and within the scope of
their UN approval. The Li-SAFE BOX may only be
used in a complete, unchanged and undamaged
state.
i
Important!
CEMO assumes no liability for any losses
or injuries caused by cases of fire or
damage relating to lithium batteries.
1.3.1
