Stacking and coupling
The Li-SAFE BOXes can be stacked and securely
coupled using the rotary handle.
Boxes can be easily opened, even if stacked.
Observe the weight of the top part of the stack!
Only stack on a level surface.
A high centre of gravity means there is a danger
of the boxes tipping over.
Observe a maximum stacking weight of 125 kg!
In the case of damage to a lithium battery, quick
access to the affected box must be ensured at
all times.
The Li-SAFE BOX system is compatible with
several common systems on the market.
The product can be coupled with boxes from
other manufacturers using the accessory
"11882 multi-adapter plate".
4.4
Carrying
The Li-SAFE BOX can be carried using the front
handle (for carrying near to the body) or the lid
handle (ideal for several boxes in a stack — ob-
serve the limit values for safe lifting and carrying).

Transport
During transport, the provisions for Class 9 hazard-
ous goods in accordance with ADR must be ob-
served, particularly the relevant special provisions
and packaging instructions.
For public transport, e.g. by shipping company, a
transport document must be created in accordance
with ADR.
In accordance with the approval certificate for the
Li-SAFE BOX, the following packaging instructions
are fulfilled:
P903 – "Series batteries; new/used"
P908 – "Damaged or defective (transport-safe)
lithium batteries"
P909 – Lithium batteries for disposal or recycling
P910 – Prototype batteries not subject to UN38.3
testing
The UN approval was granted using the malleable
special cushions.
The maximum loading limit is governed by the
maximum gross weight. The existing UN approval
of the container does not stipulate a limit on the
grounds of the battery type or energy content of
the lithium battery.
i
During transport, please observe the dis-
tinction from packaging instruction P911,
which may not be implemented with this
Li-SAFE BOX (i.e. not approved: critically
defective/damaged (transport-unsafe)
lithium batteries which are prone to a
hazardous reaction).
4.5.1

ance with ADR
