6. Using the small set screws found in each corner of the plate, level the
plate to the main table. Place a straight edge on the main table, and
adjust the set screws in or out until the plate is flush with the straight
edge all the way around. See Figure 14.
7. Insert 6mmx1.25x.20mm brass screws into each corner of the plate.
Secure with matching nylon locking nut on the underside of the plate.
Figure 15.
8. Recheck the plate with the straight edge and make fine adjustments if
necessary, by loosening the brass screws and readjusting the leveling
screws installed in Step 6.
9. If using the onboard on/off safety lock switch found on the router table,
make sure the switch is in the off position. See Figure 16.
10. You can now plug the router into the outlet found on the back of the
safety lock switch under the table. See Figure 17.
11. Turn the router switch on – refer to the manufacturer instructions. See
Figure 18.
12. Double check that everything is secure, and all loose parts and tools
have been put away. You can now test the safety switch. Plug the cord
from the router table into a 110v wall outlet. Turn the safety lock switch
on and the router should start up.
General Operation
General operating procedures are just that: they are general in nature and are
not intended to be the final word in completing any operation with a router or
router table. We encourage you to collect as much information on router and
router table use through books, the internet, public television, or by taking
a woodworking class before attempting any operation. Follow all safety
guidelines when performing any procedure on the Portamate Router Table.
Safety guard has been rotated up in all images for clarity. All operations should
be performed with the safety guard in place.
