Cleaning
Demagnetizing

The C270 tape recorder requires no regular
maintenance other than occasional cleaning

contact with the tape
For this purpose we recommend the REVOX
cl(")anlng kil (ParI No_ 39000) and the REVOX
de
r
lagnetizing choke.

Moisten
a
fell stick with cleaning fluid and
clean all tape
guidance
elements.
Then
dry
the
cleaned parts with a new,
clean
felt
swab
or cleaning
web.
Important:
M
ake sure that
no
clea
ning fluid penetrates In-
to
the
bearing
of
the
capstan shaft or
c
ontacts
the cover of the VU-meters becau se Ihls
would damage the bearings or the covers.
SWitch
off the
tape
recorder and remove the
tape
sufficiently iar away from the
recorder.
Slowly approach the
part
10
be demagnetized
with the tip of
the
energized choke and all er
a
brief moment
retract
it
slovvly_
Repeat this pro-
cedure for all metal parts that come in contact
with the tape (soundheads,
tape
guidance ele-
ments,
guide rollers, li
ft
ing
pin).
Withdraw
the
choke from
the
recorder (approx.
50
em) be-
fore you SWitch
1\
off.
Caution:
The demagnetizing
c
hoke
also demagnetizes
your recorded
tapes
if
the choke

close
to the tapas
