V1.1 'Nano Carbon' Variable Shade Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet 8820193
OPERATION
DANGER! Never use a welding helmet with a darkening filter that
flickers or fails to darken. The unblocked arc light flash burn your
eyes and require immediate medical attention. Test the helmet
functons before each use and replace malfunctioning components.
BEFORE WELDING
1. Ensure that the internal and external protective films are
removed from the lenses.
2. Check that the battery has sufficient power to operate the
helmet (see Test Button)
3. Check that the arc sensors are clean and not blocked by dust
or debris.
4. Check for head band tightness before each use.
SHADE NUMBER SELECTION
Adjust the welding helmet's Shade Number to match the type
of welding. Consult the Welding Shade Guide (Appendix A) to
determine the minimum shade for the amperage and welding
method being employed.
1. The switch on the shade control (#3) allows you to switch
between shade ranges: Grind (top) DIN 4 to 8 (middle) and
DIN 9 to 13 (bottom).
2. Turn the shade control dial (#3) to select the desired DIN
number.
DELAY TIME
Delay time refers to the time the cartridge filter is set to
change from the dark to bright state after welding stops. The
delay can be adjusted (#4) up to a 0.9 second delay.
The delay is set between 0.3 seconds, suitable for spot or short
welds to 0.9 seconds, suitable for heavy current welding or
when visible light is produced.
