5.5 Inserting the various accessories
(Fig. 6-7)
Danger!
Before inserting an accessory (and each time
before changing an accessory) switch off the
rotary tool and remove the battery.
1. Press the lock button (6) and turn the collet
chuck until the bolt locks into place.
2. Remove the clamp nut (5) using the chuck
key (20), insert the matching collet (21) and
refi t the clamp nut.
3. Insert the required accessory into the collet
as far as the stop and tighten the clamp nut
(5) using the chuck key (20).
The projection of the accessory must not exceed
1"!
6. Operation
6.1 On/Off switch (Fig. 8/Item 4)
To switch on the machine, push the On/Off switch
(4) the left.
To switch off the machine, push the On/Off switch
(4) to the right.
Restart safeguard
If the battery is removed and reinserted in running
mode (e.g. when changing a battery), the tool
will not start up again automatically. To carry on
working, fi rst switch off the tool and then switch it
back on.
6.2 Speed controller (Fig. 8/Item 3)
The required speed can be set with the speed
controller (3).
Turn it clockwise to increase the speed.
Turn it counterclockwise to reduce the speed.
Important!
The correct speed depends on the accessory
used and the type of material being processed.
6.3 Information on speed settings
Small cutters/grinding stones: High speed
Large cutters/grinding stones: Low speed

6.4 Practical tips
Exert only moderate pressure on the
workpiece so that it can be machined at
constant speed.
Instead of accelerating your work, high
pressure will cause the drive unit to slow
down and even stop, thus overloading the
motor.
For your own safety, it is essential to secure
small workpieces with a screw clamp or vise.
Precision work/engraving: Hold the drive unit
like a pen (single-handed).
Rough work: Hold the drive unit like the
handle of a hammer (two-handed).
6.5 Description of the accessories

Grinding stones (8):
In various grinding head shapes.
For grinding and deburring metal and plastic.
Recommended speed setting: 20-30*
Engraving bits (9):
For cutting and engraving plastic, wood, soft
metal and glass.
Recommended speed setting: 10-25*
Wire brushes (10):
For cleaning stone, metal, aluminum, etc.
Recommended speed setting: 25-34*
High speed cutters (11):
For cutting plastic, wood and soft metal.
Recommended speed setting: 10-25*
Grinding/sanding sleeves (15):
For grinding/sanding wood and plastic.
See Fig. 9 for fi tting.
Recommended speed setting: 25-34*
Polishing wheels (16):
For polishing brass, tin, copper, etc.
Also for use with polishing pastes.
See Fig. 10 for fi tting.
Recommended speed setting: 15-25*
Cut-off wheels (17/19):
For cutting metal and plastic.
Fasten the cut-off wheel to the screw mandrel
(14). (see Fig. 11).
Recommended speed setting: 15-25*
