before firSt uSe - cleaning
1. Remove the appliance from the packaging, and remove all packaging materials.
2. Clean the appliance before using the appliance for the first time (see 'Cleaning and maintenance').
•
T he appliance may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first
time. This is normal, and will soon stop. Make sure the appliance has sufficient ventilation.
•
K eep house birds away from the appliance when it is in use; fumes released from the non-stick
coating can cause stress to birds.
•
D o not touch the appliance if it falls into water. Remove the plug from the wall socket immediately.
Do not use the device again.

Assemble the glass lid (3) and knob (4) as follows:

1. P ut the appliance on a level and heat-resistant
surface. Keep birds out of the area when using
the appliance.
2. I nsert the thermostat fully into the socket (see
Figure 4).
O nly the supplied cable with thermostat may be
used.
3. Put the plug in the wall socket.
4. A djust the thermostat dial to the required
temperature (position 1 through 5). The indicator
light on the thermostat will illuminate to show that
the heating element has been switched on.

4 approx. 185°C
5 approx. 220°C
5. A fter waiting a few minutes check whether the indicator light is extinguished. Once the indicator light has
extinguished the appliance has reached the required temperature, and is ready for use.
D uring use the heating element will switch on and off to keep the temperature of the pan constant.
Consequently the indicator light will also occasionally be illuminated.
