WHat tyPes of Waste is tHe aPPliance aBle to PRocess?
Non-compatible waste
Your appliance can only handle food waste. Plastic,
metal, glass or other materials are prohibited and
may damage your appliance.
Certain foods should also be avoided as they too
can damage your appliance, such as:
• large quantities of liquid (water, broth, soup, vinai-
grette, liquid yoghurt, milk, etc.). Pour as much
as you can into the sink before putting the waste
into the appliance's bucket.
• food that is overly large or hard:
- large, hard bones (such as beef ribs, pork bones...)
- hard shells (scallops, oysters...)
- hard stones (peaches, cherries, avocados...)
- coconut
- sweets and chewing gum
• too much fat, as the appliance will be unable to
dehydrate it (oil...)
• very fibrous foods (artichoke, pineapple leaves...)
Waste that is acceptable in small quantities
Avoid overloading the appliance with certain foods,
as this will affect its performance: their residue may
stick to the sides (too much sweet food) or clump
together (excessively starchy or very wet waste).
Add only a limited amount of these foods, and do
not place them at the bottom of the bucket.
• Very sweet foods and some types of fruit (such
as melon, pineapple skin), jam, honey...
• Very fatty foods
• Bread
• sauces
• Yoghurt
• Paper towels, tissues
Compatible waste
• Meat
• small bones (poultry, rabbit, lamb or pork chops...)
• Fish including bones
• shellfish & shells (except hard shells such as oys-
ters, whelks, scallops)
• Fruit & vegetables
• Egg shells
• Rice, pasta, potatoes
• Grains and cereals
• Pizza
• Cheese
• Cake, pies and tarts, biscuits and Danish pastries
• Coffee grounds
• Tea (leaves and bags)
• Flowers, leaves
Advice:
• For optimum results, we recommend mixing dif-
ferent types of food in the appliance.
• As a general rule, we recommend cutting food
into 2 to 3 cm lengths so that it can be processed
more efficiently by the appliance. Because of their
texture or size, some food could wrap themselves
around the grinding blade or even cause it to
become blocked.
The following foods should always be cut up:
-
herbs, such as parsley and coriander
-
Bunches of grapes
-
Celery, fennel, asparagus, ginger, aubergine
skins
