MAINTENANCE
ThE USER MAY PERFORM ONLY WhAT IS INDICATED
IN ThIS MANUAL.
ANY OThER INTERVENTION IS FORBIDDEN.
!
Before any intervention, switch off the vehicle and take off
the key.
Disconnect the batteries through the special plug in the battery
tray.
Failure to follow these instructions may result
in danger. (Electrical or mechanical risk)
Battery recharge
The battery must be recharged when the green lights have
turned off (Ref.6 Fig.6-) the yellow and the red one being on.
Average recharging time is 8 hours.
To recharge the battery, always use an electronic battery char-
ger recommended by the dealer and/or manufacturer.
For versions with on-board battery charger, use the charger
socket.
IMPORTANT
Turn off the headlamp when the vehicle is not in use (Mod. 500)
since this may descharge the battery very rapidly.
Batteries electrolyte
Periodically have the level of the electrolyte liquid in the bat-
teries checked.
Remove the batteries caps; if the liquid does not cover entirely
the elements have a topping up made by using only distilled wa-
ter which must be about 5 mm over the brim of the elements.
Put the batteries caps back.
The electrolyte liquid is a sulphuric acid solution; if some acid
gets in contact with the skin, eyes or clothes it might cause
severe burns. Should this happen, wash with plenty of clean
water and turn to a doctor.
Use appropriate individual protections so as to prevent the con-
tact with sulphuric acid (gloves, masks, glasses and so on).
English
Belts and /or chain voltage.
Periodically it is necessary to
have the belts and /or chains
voltage checked.
Disassemble the protection
panels from the lower part
of the monocoque body and
operate on the special screw
couplings (Fig. 1).
Assemble the protection pa-
nels with the special screws.
!
Do not overturn the
vehicles with the batteries
on. Danger of sulphuric acid
leakage.
Before doing any operations
on the belts and/or chains
remove the batteries from the
vehicle.
Check the brake efficiency
periodically.
