Prevention of burns
• The ReptoHeater will get hot when it is not fully submerged in the water.
Anyone who makes contact with it may therefore suffer burns. Do not plug
the ReptoHeater in until it is fully submerged in the water.
• Unplug the ReptoHeater and allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes
before taking it out of the water.
Design and operation
The ReptoHeater is an automatic heater for aquaterrarium water. It heats the
water to a temperature of approx. 25
thermostat to ensure that the water is kept at this temperature constantly.
This temperature is ideal for many terrapins and other creatures.
Installation
The ReptoHeater can be fitted vertically or horizontally on the side of the
aquaterrarium. It can also be installed horizontally on the base of the aqua-
terrarium (Fig. B).
Choose a position for the ReptoHeater where there is a strong wa-
ter flow in order to optimise the distribution of the heated water. An
ideal position is near a filter or a pump, for example.
Select a position in the aquaterrarium water in which the ReptoHeater will
not be submerged lower than 80 cm.
Fit the ReptoHeater inside the aquaterrarium, pressing the suction cups
against the side or the base.
Route the power cable upwards and out of the aquaterrarium.
Start of operation
The ReptoHeater must be allowed to acclimatise to room temperature before
being put into operation in order to guarantee optimum temperature control.
Make sure that the ReptoHeater has been fully immersed in the water for
at least 10 minutes.
DANGER
Damaged insulation can cause death by electric shock!
Check the ReptoHeater, power cable and mains plug for visible
signs of damage.
Do not insert the plug in the socket if there is visible damage.
Unplug the ReptoHeater immediately if it is damaged.
