3.2 Product description
The airflow recorded by the measuring probe
is compared with the setpoint defined in the
control unit. If the setpoint is reached or
exceeded, the integrated relay is activated.
There is no problem switching ventilation
components. The time steps t1 to t4 that are
stored in the control unit guarantee the
vibration-free start up of a fan, for example.

Time steps T1 to T4
t1 Switch-on time after applying mains
power/power supply (approx. 100 ms).
R1 contacts 3 and 4 closed.
t2 Time for start-up bridging (approx. 50 s).
Relay R1 is activated for this time,
irrespective of the actual air flow value.
R1 contacts 4 and 5 closed, yellow LED [2]
flashes. Following this, the air flow monitor
works in normal mode, in accordance with
the defined setpoint.
t3 Minimum time difference for the restart of
t2 (approx. 300 ms).
t4 Measuring sensor reaction time (approx. 2 s).

3.3 Intended use
● Air flow monitor for monitoring the
minimum volumetric flows in ventilation
systems.
● Operation is only permitted:
● with correctly assembled measuring
probe.
● with the control unit mounted in the
control cabinet on a 35 mm profile rail.
● Screen cables are prescribed if the sensor
cable is installed in cable channels.
3.4 Predictable misuses
Maico is not liable for damages caused
by use contrary to the intended purpose.
Under no circumstances should the unit
be used:
● close to flammable materials, liquids
or gases.
● for conveying chemicals, aggressive
gases or vapours.
● in explosive atmospheres.
● under mechanical load.
