Dear customer,
we are pleased about your decision to buy a
Thule roof box and hope that you will enjoy it.
Please note that before mounting the roof box
it is very important that you read and follow
these instructions carefully before assembling
the roof box.And now have loads of fun with
your new roof box!
Before mounting the roof box
This box fits to all roofbars racks with the following
carrier bar dimensions: max. width: 80mm/height: 18
– 42mm.
First of all mount the roof rack on the car following the
instructions from the vehicle manufacturer as well as the
mounting instructions for the rack itself.
The distance between the two roof bars is allowed to be
between 623mm and 981mm. When mounting the roof
box on special racks with T-profiles such as Thule Aero
Bar, we offer special adapter sets. The conversion adap-
ters can be obtained from your local dealer or directly
from the manufacturer.

Mounting of the roof box
First place the box parallel with the vehicle centrally
onto the roof bars. For hatchback vehicles place the box
and/or the carrier in a way that the box does not obstruct
the opening of the tailgate.
You could open the box from both sides. But in order to
do this, the opposite side must be locked with the key! .
When opening the roof box please pay attention, that the
locking system on the other side is locked.
For safety reasons the roof box must be mounted in such
a way that it can be loaded and unloaded from the pas-
senger side. The person who loads the box must not
stand on the road.

Your roof box is equipped with adjustable
quick-fit attachment units, which allow the box to be fit-
ted quickly without the use of tools. There are four sli-
ding attachment units on the base of the roof box. Push
the attachment units directly over the appropriate rail of
the roof bars. The rails should now be positioned bet-
ween the two pins of the corresponding attachment
units.
Lift the fastening lever of the attachment unit after lif-
ting the red safety lock and guide the U-bracket into the
protruding pin from below.

Now press down the fastening lever to a hori-
zontal position. Afterwards push the red safety lock
again in the horizontal position. A distinct snap effect
must be observed when doing this.
If this is not the case, check the position of the U-brak-
ket and press it more firmly against the carrier rail, if ne-
cessary. If this operation is not possible check once
again if the fastening lever is latched in its fully closed
position. Fit all four attachment units in the same way. If
the fastener does not click into place, the roof box is not
securely mounted and must not be used. The box may
otherwise slip from the roof while driving and cause a
serious accident.

Loading the roof box
When loading the roof box, make sure that the load is
evenly distributed ( heavy load has to be in the middle
of the box) and observe the overall load height of the
closed roof box.
The maximum permissible load for the roof box is 75
kg. Never exceed the maximum permitted roof loading
of your vehicle (see the manufacturer's owner's hand-
book).

Transportation of goods
The load must be secured using suitable tensioning
straps (provided with the roof box, or available as an ac-
cessory, depending on the particular roof box model).

Transport of skis
For transporting skis they have to be secured with ski
holders and straps
( provided with the roof box, or available as an accesso-
ry, depending on the particular box).
Fit the ski holders by inserting the fixing angle into the
rail at the bottom of the ski holder profiles and by
clicking the pins into the quick-fix attachment units ac-
cording to picture 6.
Ski holders which are not clicked into place are not allo-
wed to be used, as they could damage the roof box or
rather the load. The straps could then be lead through
the eye at the fixing angle.

Opening and closing of the roof box

simultaneously turn the key right in the direction of the
arrow. The key can not be removed as long as the box is
open.
When closing the box push the lid down and simultane-
ously turn the key anti clock-wise. You can remove the
key once the box is closed.
